"The Church started out as a Sunday School Fellowship for the boarding school children. As the number of the boarders increased, it became harder and harder to walk them to church every Sunday, and usually the return journey was the hardest because it was always in the mid-afternoon when the sun was at its hottest. Again, not many churches were available in the community at the time.

We felt prompted to start conducting the services for them here at the school, right in their classrooms! So we tried it and it worked out so well for all of us - the pupils, teachers and parents. It was also an added bonus for us to follow through the spiritual lessons we give through the week. We praised the Lord for helping us. He stepped in when we stepped out. So, gladly we embraced the challenge of discipling the children in the Love of God and grounding them in the Eternal Word of Truth. (Many children have met the Lord Jesus through this ministry and do continue with the relationship even when they leave for secondary school).

Eventually, we realized that not only the boarders needed to hear the Message of God's love, so we also let in the day scholars, next it was the parents and then - all our neighbours could come too!! Since that time, our gates have been opened to the community for sharing the Message of The Kingdom. How we appreciate all the years we spent being dicipled within YWAM's diverse ministries! We now realize that through YWAM the Lord was equipping us for this ministry. Without Him, we can do nothing.
